Dr. Suska is currently on the Board of Directors and is part of the Guideline Committee of the American Association of Feline Practitioners. In addition, she is a show manager for the "Paws for Fun" charity and is president of the Alexandria Business and Professional Women. Before she became a vet she worked as an Environmental, Metllurgical, and Process Control Engineer in a private industry in accordance with the Baltimore City Health Department. Her hobbies include knitting, gardening, horseback riding and educating others about cats.
Dr. Gies, a native of Concord, NC, joined VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital in 2012, as a relief veterinarian. After graduating from North Carolina State University (Summa Cum Laude) with a major in Biological Sciences in 2002, she went on to that University's College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Always an avid student of emergency and critical care, Dr. Gies is happy to be practicing emergency medicine at VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital. New to the DC area, Dr. Gies and her husband Aaron are having a great time exploring it on walks with their dog, Ferris, as well as kayaking, horseback riding, and playing with their two cats, Boniface and Pumpkin.
Dr. Bazemore currently resides in Washington, D.C., and is the proud parent of 1 furry kid, Tar-Jay who is a 3 year old cat!. When she is not working at VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital, she enjoys spending time with her kids and family outside of her passion of veterinary medicine.
